Abstract:

. احتمالا بین ۴۰- ۲۰ میلیون نفر از زوج ها بچه دار نمی شوند. بر اساس یک مطالعه برنامه ریزی شده مشخص گردید که زنان : الف) در موارد نازائی علل هورمونی، ب) در موارد دیگر عفونت لگن، ج) در موارد باقیمانده هیچ علتی برای نازائی مشاهده نگردیده است.  با این حال تفاوتهای اساسی جغرافیائی نیز وجود دارد. در آفریقا بیش از زنان نازا که هرگز حامله نشدند، علت نازائی آنها عفونت لگنی بوده است. در بین این زنان، فقط تعداد کمی از آنها سل لگنی داشتند در حالیکه بقیه آنها نازائی شان به عفونتهای ناشی از بیماریهای مقاربتی مربوط می شد که بیشترین عامل گنوکوک یا کلامیدیا بوده است. .
